Energy Upgrades You May Receive

Step 4: Receive a Custom Energy Improvement Plan

You’ll also learn how much you could save on energy costs after the upgrades.
Step 5: NYSERDA Approval
Your contractor then submits the proposed work to NYSERDA for approval. This ensures all measures meet program standards, qualify for funding, and are performed by certified professionals. Once approved, the project can move forward — no cost to you if you qualify.
Step 6: Professional Installation
Licensed and insured technicians complete all approved energy upgrades in your home. Typical improvements include insulation, air sealing, and other efficiency measures. All work is performed safely, neatly, and in compliance with state energy standards.
Step 7: Quality Inspection

About the NYSERDA EmPower+ Program

Depending on eligibility and scope, projects are covered up to typical caps (e.g., up to $10,000 for low-income and up to $5,000 for moderate-income per project).
